Mayfair Elementary Utility Overhaul Faces New Bidding After District Staff Recommends Rejecting Offers

MAYFAIR, Fresno County — A planned infrastructure replacement at Mayfair Elementary School was the subject of a June 3, 2026 Fresno Unified Board of Education agenda item recommending the rejection of all construction bids.

The project, identified as Bid No. 26-42, calls for replacing underground heating-and-cooling piping, domestic water lines, gas lines and sewer infrastructure across the school campus. The district’s board packet says staff wanted to reconsider the project scope and rebid the work, rather than award the original contract.
